Step 1 – Choose the car you want make it a mini car

Choose any cars you want to minimize or shrink it, do not have to think about the car price here! You can try with some sports cars, cool cars or you can choose from the Ferrari f50 wallpaper in this website. Here we will use the famous Audi R8 that we get from Sarah Davison’s website. Create a new canvas in GIMP and open the car image on a new layer.

Step 2 – Shrink the car to a mini size

Now duplicate the layer you created in step 1 and rename this layer to any name you want. You can customize your own car by placing the desire width and height to the new layer. Now you will have to select the rear wheel of the car from the original image, copy and paste it to a new layer and name it as “real wheel”. Do this using the “Rectangular Select” tool, pretty much simple.

Step 3 – Build the car wheel

Now lower the wheel image opacity to 70-80% and fit the rear wheel in the rear of the car image that you have shrunk just now. This step has to adjust few more times to make sure the wheel nicely fit to the car inside the black color area. Make sure you make it like cool tricked out cars. Isn’t you feel easy on how to build a mini car now?

Step 4 – More to shrink the car

Right click on the wheel’s layer and select “Add layer Mask” after you bring the opacity back to 100%. Click ok on the first option and use black color as the foreground color, use a soft paint brush to remove those areas that are not require to paint. Keep the wheel arch panel so that it looks like cute little pimped out cars.

Step 5 – Fit mini front wheel to the mini car

Here comes the last step, it is just as simple as repeat the step 4 to the front wheel. Alternatively, you can use the “Blur Tool” to blur the wheel but it depends on whether you want to customize a car to a blur wheel or clear shining wheel. Merge all the layers or go to “Layer->Flatten Image” if you are using Photoshop to do this. In GIMP, you can also resize the canvas by choosing “Filters > Enhance > Unsharp Mask”.
