Here is the list of updated GM vehicle recalls since 2010 until present from time to time. GM recalls their vehicle several times in the past year and 2010. For all GM cars owner must be aware of all the recalls from time to time to avoid any incident happen. Do check properly your model year with GM to see if the car is affected by these recalls.

GM car Hummer
During April 2009, GM recalled around 1.5 million vehicles to check the oil leak problem that could cause a fire in engine compartment. Vehicle affected are:

  • 1997-2003 Buick Regal
  • 2000-2003 Chevrolet Impala
  • 1998-1999 Chevrolet Lumina
  • 1998-2003 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
  • 1998-1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue
  • 1997-2003 Pontic Grand Pix

In early 2010, GM recalls around 1.3 million compact cars to replace the motor in the power steering system. The car is hard to steer at low speed when the motor has faulty. Affected cars are:

  • 2005-2010 Chevrolet Cobalt
  • 2007-2010 Pontiac G5 (discontinued model)
  • 2005-2006 Pontiac Pursuit (Canadian version of the G5)
  • 2004-2005 Pontiac G4 (Mexican version of the G5)

GM vehicle recalls June 2010

During June 2010, GM recalls 1.5 million vehicles worldwide due to the heated washer fluid system in the car that could short circuit. This recall is more serious because it could cause fire if it happens. There are 5 cases of fire caused by heated windshield wipe fluid system reported but no incident of injury. Vehicles affected by the recall are:

  • 2006-2009 model year Buick Lucerne, Cadillac DTS, and Hummer H2.
  • 2008-2009 model year Buick Enclave, Cadillac CTS.
  • 2007-2009 model year Cadillac Escalade, Escalade ESV, Escalade EXT, ChevroletAvalanche, Chevrolet Silverado, Chevrolet Suburban, Chevrolet Tahoe, GMCAcadia, GMC Sierra, GMC Yukon, Yukon XL, Saturn Outlook.

GM announced will make a voluntary payment of $100 to all car owners who has affected by this recall. Most of the affected vehicles are in the U.S which is 1,365,070 and it is around 98,794 in Canada, 26,228 in Mexico, and 38,093 were exports.

GM vehicle recalls August 2010

In August 17, 2010, GM recalls around 250,000 crossover vehicles worldwide due to the second-row seat belts that could be damaged. Cars that affected are Chevrolet Traverse, Buick Enclave, GMC Acadia, and Saturn Outlook manufactured from 2009 to 2010. Most of the recalled cars are in U.S while a small amount of affected cars are in Canada, Mexico, and some other countries. Stay here to keep more updates for GM vehicle recalls.
