Future flying cars
If you asked a kid to draw you future flying cars, what will you get? What you expect the kids to draw you flying cars that will appear in the future world? The definition of a flying car is a car that can be flown and control in the same manner as a road car may be driven. It can be said as a roadable aircraft, a car that can legally travel on roads and can take off or fly off and land as an aircraft at anytime. You may have gone through learning to drive a carcourse in the world today, but possible to take the course to learn to fly a car in the future?
In our world today, flying cars only appear in science fiction movie, I believe most of the people have seen the first flying cars in the famous 80’s movie “Back to the future”. Back to the future car modified from DeLorean DMC-12 and travels to a programmed date and time upon reaching 88 mph. Delorean is a successful sports cars build in 80’s, the car look like a bird when both the doors open up just like 1963 Mercedes-Benz 300SL we ranked as Top 10 coolest cars lately. In the movie, the DeLorean can be flown!
Another famous movie that already tell the world the appearance of future flying cars in our world is in the 1974 James Bond film “The Man with the Golden Gun” portrayed the villain escaping in a 1974 AMC Matador with a jet engine and wings mounted to the roof. The AMC Matador may be not as cool as the DeLorean but it has become a customized car in the movie.
Where is the real flying cars?
Is it possible we will see or even buy flying cars from the market in the next 100 years? Or in the next 200 years? Will our technology able to defy the gravity at a massive scale and build these cars without turbine or rotary engine that we having in our car today?
Since 1918, engineers, scientist, eccentrics, automobile inventor have patented more than 80 designs of flying cars, but none of them build one successfully. The founder of Ford Motor Company, Henry Ford, who also tried many ways to build flying cars but our technology is still not yet reach that stage, or else we may have seen “Ford Flying”, “Ford Anti-Gravity”, or “Ford Bird” today.
Video above is the 1997 film “The Fifth Element” where Bruce Willis drive-flying or fly-driving a yellow taxi chasing by some flying police cars. Isn’t this video had shown some of the future flying cars?
