From Renault Dauphine to Renault Clio, no matter it’s a new or old Renault, Renault cars are always sought-after by car lovers especially those who loves European cars.
Renault (Renault S.A.) is a French automobile manufacturer. The Company was founded by Louis Renault, Marcel Renault, and Fernand Renault in 1899. The three brothers had successful built the company and today’s Renault lineup includes passenger cars, vans, trucks, buses, vans, and tractors.
The first Renault car was the Renault Voiturette 1CV. It was designed by Louis Renault himself. The car is also known as Renault Little Car and the first car was sold to a friend of Louis’ father. The production of Renault Voiturette was between 1898 and 1903 where it has Type A, Type B, Type C, Type D, Type E, Type G, Type H, and Type J.
Later on, the brothers brought Renault cars into motor racing with the purpose to gain more publicity. Renault was then gained an immediate recognized when they won some race during 1900s. Since then, Renault has continuously introduced cars that recognized by the market.
Renault Cars – Significant Models
- Renault 4CV (1947 – 1961) – An economy car produced by Renault after World War II. Over million of Renault 4CV was sold.
- Renault Caravelle (1958 – 1968) – One of the most successful Renault roadster. Only 117,000 were produced.
- Renault 9 & 11 (1981 – 1999) – The Renault 9 and Renault 11 are two family cars that won European Car of the Year of 1982.
- Renault Alliance (1983 – 1987)
- Renault Kangoo (1997 – 2007) – Good for family (optional with 7-seater or SME business usage)
- Renault Twingo (1992 – present)
- Renault Laguna (1993 – Present) – One of the most successful Renault cars.
- Renault Mégane (1995 – present) – Either it is 3-door Mégane or 5-door Mégane, the performance of Mégane is quite impressive.
- Renault Scénic (1996 – present) – A compact Renault MPV.
