Nissan Leaf Electric Car
Nissan LEAF electric car is an affordable zero-emission car introduced by Nissan in late 2010. It is currently one of the best Nissan electric cars available in the market that has a range of more than 100 miles between charges which is pretty satisfy for real world usage. Here are the reviews and feedbacks for this five-door mid-size hatchback electric car.
Design. First look or first impression on the brand new Nissan LEAF is “Wow!! It is so cute”. Well, that sentence mostly comes from girls. For some exotic cars lovers, you may hate it because most of the electric cars are small, in weird shape, and light-weight due to its powertrain. The front of the Nissan LEAF looks like a V-shape with large headlamps that create a distinctive blue internal reflective design.
Power and range. Nissan claims the LEAF has a top speed of over 93 mph (150km/h). The car uses 80kW AC synchronous electric motor with 24 kWh lithium-ion battery and a 3.3 kW onboard charger. The LEAF recorded 9.9 seconds from 0 to 60 mph unofficially. There are many car related websites or news saying the Nissan LEAF can go more than 100 miles but many owners on MyNissanLeaf report 60 to 80 miles of range daily. It is pretty much depends on your usage and your expectation.
Safety. Since the first day electric cars started to run on the road, safety is a major concern for electric car manufacturers as well as consumer. Nissan LEAF features 4-wheel power-assisted vented disc brakes, regenerative brakes, 4-wheel Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD), as well as electronic parking brake.
Nissan LEAF Interior. The interior design of the LEAF is what we have to and MUST give an extra point to it. The dashboard panel featured all the information driver needs to know with electric range on the left and other performance parameter with nice color light. Clean design with high technology features makes the driver feel relax while driving.
Car Price
Well, affordable pricing is one of the biggest selling points for Nissan LEAF. In United States, the selling price is US$32,780, while Japan is 3.76 million yen (US$44,600), Portugal is €35,250 (US$45,500), Ireland is €34,995 (US$45,100), United Kingdom is £30,990 (US$49,800), and Netherlands is €32,839 (US$42,300). In UK, consumer is able to get government subsidies of £5,000 to buy any electric cars including the Nissan LEAF. Although the price is higher than Ford Think electric car, it is more practical to be used because Ford THINK only has 30 miles range.
