Maserati was founded by six Maserati brothers, Carlo, Bindo, Alfieri, Mario, Ettore, and Ernesto. While all brothers were racing enthusiasts and all are into automobile, this Italian luxury sports car manufacturer Maserati was established nearly a century ago in 1914 although the eldest brother Carlo Maserati died in 1910.

Throughout the ‘20s and ‘30s, Maserati brothers began making race cars and one of the first Maseratis won the 1926 Targa Florio, mark the beginning of this luxury car brands. In 1932, Alfieri Maserati died. The remaining brothers sold the company to Adolfo Orsi family in 1937 and remained in engineering roles with the company.

Years later, the company continue their success with the winning of Indianapolis 500 with a Maserati 8CTF. Just like other car marque, Maserati production stopped during World War and continue with even more great post war Maserati cars. Today, Maserati is owned by one if the top ten car manufacturers in the world, Fiat.

Maserati logo is design by Mario, who was believed to have based the company’s trident emblem on a statue of the Fontana del Nettuno found in Bologna.

  • Maserati Quattroporte – Maserati Quattroporte is one of the notable four-door saloon Maserati cars. First generation was introduced in 1963 and the productions continue with fifth generation in 2004 until today. MSRP $117,500 – $135,000.
