  • Mini Gathering 09 January 2009 in Malaysia

    Jan 9 2009, lovely night in Petaling Jaya, Selangor Malaysia. Cool breeze and not a drop of rain, some say it’s an excellent night for a bar-b-que, but for some 39 Minis Cars (36 classics with 3 new MINIs, representatives from 3 forums (MML, MTM, Minisparepart) and family of Mini Owners Group of Malaysia) think otherwise. It’s a great night for a “Teh Tarik” (Teh Tarik is a hot tea beverage which can be commonly found in restaurants, outdoor stalls and coffee shops in Malaysia) session with fellow Mini enthusiast to get together to chat about the past year and what are the plans for this year as we all know it is the 50th Anniversary of the beloved Mini.   • Classic Mini First Generation MK1

    The first ever Mini was launched in August 1959 by BMC. The first launched model was Austin Se7en Mini MK1. There are 2 versions of this model available during the time which is the Basic Mini and the De Luxe in Farina Grey, Tartan Red, or Speedwell Blue. Both of these versions were essentially the same model powered by A series engine which is 848cc form mounted transversely at the front, and driving the front wheels through an integral gearbox housed in the sump casting of the engine. The Mini De Luxe version featured opening front hinged rear quarter windows and an adjustable front passenger seat.

  • 2008 Mini Cooper S inadvertent tattoos

    On Dec 2008, some automotive websites reporting that American National Highway and Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA ) has found that the dual tailpipes of the 2007-2008 MINI Cooper S protrude too far out from the center of the Cooper’s rear bumper and have caused an inadvertent tattoo ” O O ” on owner’s shins.   • No sweat for 21 who crammed into a Mini Cooper

    Malaysia is headed into the Guinness Book of World Records for cramming 21 people into a Mini Cooper. Students from Inti College Subang Jaya not only battled the rain in their bid to successfully fit 21 people for 20 seconds into a 1999 Mini Cooper, they also had to do it twice.

    BMW MINI John Cooper Works is available in Malaysia now at Auto Bavaria and Sapura Auto showrooms. The price is at MYR279,000. An auto Bavaria and Sapura Auto showroom is located strategically in the City Centre at Jalan Tun Razak, Kuala Lumpur. The Mini John Cooper Works ( Mini JCW ) engine is 1.6liter turbocharged engine gets boosted up to 211hp, with peak torque now at 260Nm (280Nm overboost) from as low as 1,850rpm. The MINI JCW is only available with a 6-speed manual, reflecting its more hardcore nature as compared to the Cooper S.
